What to expect

Our fashion wishes have been answered! Alber Elbaz is back with a new luxury brand.

The industry has missed the enthusiastic designer ever since his sudden departure from Lanvin after 14 years at the helm. Following a string of collaborations and engagements, the Moroccan-born creative is fully stepping back into the limelight with a new concept dubbed AZ Fashion (stands for AlberelbaZfashion).

His new venture is in partnership with Richemont, the Swiss luxury conglomerate that owns Chloé, Yoox Net-a-Porter group, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels, among other brands.

According to the press release, it will be “an innovative and dynamic startup, meant to turn dreams into reality” and provide “solutions for women of our times.” At Lanvin, Elbaz made fashion enjoyable and wanted women to feel beautiful and confident.

“Upon hearing Alber Elbaz describe his vision for fashion and the projects it inspires in him, I was again struck by his creativity and insight,” Richemont chairman, Johann Rupert, said. “His talent and inventiveness, with his sensitivity towards women and their well-being, will be of great value to our group and it’s maisons.”

Further details on whether AZ Fashion will be a fully-fledged brand, or if Elbaz will indeed design a whole new collection, are yet to be revealed, but we know already that it’s going to be everything that the fashion industry has been missing.
