Talk about a whole new world..

When a film grosses over one billion dollars in the international box-office, a sequel is instantly expected. So, it comes as no surprise that Disney is planning a follow up to Aladdin, which was one of the biggest movies of 2019.

News of a sequel has not been announced by the entertainment conglomerate, but according to Variety, a second part is underway. Filmmakers who were attached to the first part are already signed up to the project and have spent the last six months deciding what the new film should look like.

The film stars Egyptian-Canadian actor Mena Massoud, alongside legend Will Smith and Naomi Scott. Aladdin was such a hit to the point that it became the highest-grossing film of Will Smith’s career and is only the fourth live-action adaptation to make a billion dollars, joining “The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
