Aditi Rao Hydari made her Cannes Film Festival debut as the L’Oréal brand ambassador this year.
Aditi, a renowned Bollywood actor with extensive filmography was named as the face of L’Oréal back in 2020. Marking her first appearance at Cannes, the Delhi 6 actor remained true to her pixie princess aesthetic.
For her first official appearance, Aditi wore a bright sky blue, puffy couture gown by Oscar de la Renta. Pictured barefoot around the French Riviera with minimal accessories and untied hair — Aditi was in her element.
When it came to her debut on the red carpet, her stylist Sanam Ratansi collaborated with Dubai-based couturier Michael Cinco on a majestic, sunflower yellow couture ensemble. Known for his larger-than-life voluminous gown, Michael created a modern-day rendition of Disney Princess Belle for the actor.
Encrusted with tone-on-tone 3D embellishments, the ruffle-layered gown on Aditi looked exquisite. With minimal makeup, loose curls and no shiny diamonds to take away the focus — her choice of accessories and glamour further punctuated her look.
Fun fact: The Wazir actor also happens to be a real-life princess, from not just one but two royal lineages. The ethereal actor is the great-granddaughter of Akbar Hydari and the grand-niece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former Governor of Assam. From her maternal side, Aditi’s grandfather Raja J Rameshwar Rao was the erstwhile Raja of Wanaparthy.
If you look closely at her choice of projects, a large number of them either have her playing a princess or a royal entity. From Padmaavat and Jubilee to Taj: Divided By Blood, her reel-life characters are a reflection of her real life.
