The Lebanese label mesmerises the crowd (and us here, sat at our computers) with a Medieval-themed collection.
Couture Fashion Week is fully underway in Paris, with a host of European labels such as Chanel and Dior displaying their fairytale pieces on the catwalk.
However the Middle East’s fashion industry is also well-represented at the five-day affair, with several Lebanese labels scheduled to present their collections.
Among them is Elie Saab, who took to the runway on Tuesday to showcase his Autumn/Winter 2017-2018 haute couture line.

Entitled A Tale of Fallen Kings, the collection was bursting with ornate, nostalgic elements that harked back to centuries past – yet it felt very much of the moment.
The idea was to “capture the opulence and wild beauty of medieval times, and translate it into fiercely elegant feminine silhouettes,” the Beirut-born brand said on Instagram.
And elegant it was indeed. Here, we’ve cherry-picked our top 10 looks from the catwalk collection to transport you into daydreams of days yore…
With a shock of gothic feathers paired against a gossamer-thin skirt emblazoned in stars, this is something we’d want to see Sansa Stark wear in battle (if Game of Thrones-era sewing techniques had been up to the challenge).
The intricately jewelled overcoat adds a hearty dose of drama to an otherwise elegantly pared-back halterneck.
The artful clash of prints continues to draw the eye to this like few gowns can. (Also, we can safely say – just three pictures in – we’re definitely feeling inspired to rock a metallic headband this season).
This is our ultimate shade of blue, made all the richer in luxe fabrics.
The jagged silhouette of this featherlight chiffon number is proof of Saab’s expertise as a sartorial architect.
We rarely have call for a muted jewel-tone stole here in the UAE… but it might be reason enough to book a winter trip to Russia or somewhere of the like.
Nothing feels quite as powerful as a strongly-shouldered cape, while the exquisite beadwork adds a generous splash of femininity.

Tulle, velvet and metallic threads make a glorious trinity of textures, with sheer layers and fluid sleeves creating an ethereal fluidity.
The way the sheen of this gown appears both duller and blindingly bright make it look like a suit of armour (which, let’s be honest, a great dress kind of is).
Well, we’ve just found our dream wedding outfit.
Rami Al Ali also presented at Couture Week…
The Syrian designer showcased his Autumn Winter 2017/18 collection at the French capital’s Hotel Ritz, and we want everything.
The feather lining on that architectural strapless gown to the left? Duh-vine.
The collection was inspired by American artist Abbott Handerson Thayer’s Angel, and was dominated by soft, creamy colour palettes and masterfully restrained embellishments.
Statement-making but not OTT, many of the dresses were finished off with hand-crafted embellishments and every look was finished off with a Christian Louboutin shoe.
Now, just to find an event to wear one of these to (probably just a touch too much for the office… but then again, you’d be surprised what we’d do in the name of great style).
