It has previously said it’ll be Dubai’s most expensive hotel, and now the Bulgari Resort and Residences has another claim to fame.
The ultra-luxe accommodation has just sold one of its apartments for a whopping Dhs60 million, making it the priciest penthouse in the city according to reports.
The premium property was snapped up at the Jumeira Bay Island development, which is slated to open at the end of this year.

Previously, the most expensive penthouse sold in Dubai was at Fairmount the Palm in 2012, Gulf Business reports, which went for Dhs42 million.
However, according to Bulgari’s luxury sales director, the 14,000-square-foot property is “the largest penthouse I’ve ever come across for a branded development in Dubai”.
“This penthouse is very special because it has 270-degree views of Downtown Dubai and the sea,” Alexander Von Sayn Wittgenstein told Gulf News.
The new owner will get more than just great views too, with the development set to include six Bulgari-branded restaurants dotted around the complex’s marina.
Property owners also get a 24-hour concierge, pools and fitness facilities, lush gardens, and complimentary membership to the world’s first Bulgari Marina and Yacht club (which will sit along the complex’s promenade).

In total, the 1.7-million-square-foot development will feature 100 hotel rooms, 20 villas with private pools, 165 serviced one- to three-bed apartments, eight penthouses and 15 mansions (phew!).
The upcoming hotel has already made headlines with claims it’ll be the city’s most expensive when it opens this year.
“You can count on the fact that they [the hotel rates] will be by far the highest in the market,” Bulgari’s executive vice president Silvio Ursini told Gulf Business, though he didn’t reveal exactly what the price will be.
“We think the facilities here, the beach and vicinity will justify that, but also the size of the rooms which will be very generous.”
To take the crown of Dubai’s most expensive hotel, the room rate would have to be pricier than the seven-star Burj Al Arab, which charges from Dhs10,450 for a deluxe room.
The Dubai resort will join four other Bulgari-branded developments across the world, which include hotels in Milan, Bali and London, and eateries in Tokyo. There are also plans to open accommodation in China and Moscow in the very near future.
