Why can’t we all look this glamorous in our activewear?
Queen Rania of Jordan has been described as a “trailblazer” for Arab women – and now, she seems to be taking the title quite literally.
The royal donned her hiking boots and sweats (albeit, far more chic ones than our ratty old leggings) this week as she joined a group of hikers taking on the Jordan Trail, a 650-kilometre walking track stretching from Umm Qais in the north of Jordan to Aqaba in the south.
She shared a video to Instagram of a section of the walk, which took her through Dana Village in the Tafilah Governorate – dubbed a “must-visit” by the queen.

The queen walked alongside hikers who are taking part in the first official “Thru Hike” – the crossing of the entire trail. The hike, which takes 40 days to complete, passing through 52 villages, is set to become an annual event.
Queen Rania stressed the vital role the trail plays in promoting tourism and giving hikers a diverse view of Jordan and its local communities.
“So much to see in our beautiful Jordan,” she wrote on Instagram.
