Say hello to the first ever double bed in business class…

A new launch is soon going to make us all the more green-eyed as we sit, knees around our ears, in economy.

Qatar Airways has just revealed its luxury QSuite, a seating option that looks set to revolutionise business class cabins, at a trade show in Germany.

The Middle Eastern airline wants to make awkwardly peeping over the partition at your travel buddy a thing of the past with its customisable new seating arrangement.

The QSuite, which will soon be available on long-haul flights, lets passengers covert their comfy leather business class seats into not just a flat surface, but a full-on double bed.

The partitioned pods and adjustable TV monitors can also allow groups of four to sit in a sociable quartet, and finally allow for a family dinner at 36,000 feet that’s not in single file.

And don’t worry – if you’re flying solo and looking for total privacy, the suites have in-built panels so you can sit back and relax while hidden from sight.

“Our unique and patented design is a world first in many ways and challenges industry norms by offering passengers more privacy, more choice and more personalisation,” said Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, in a statement.

As you’d expect from a luxury cabin, the treats don’t end there – long-haul business class passengers will also get pyjamas from The White Company and toiletries from Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio.

So, when can you slide into a QSuite? Well, the cabins will be retrofitted on around one plane a month from June, so it’ll take a few years until Qatar Airways’ entire fleet has the option onboard.

And the price? Well, business class seats from Dubai to London start at around Dhs9,500 for a return (we’re looking at June).

Be right back, we’re just off to Google “how to score a free upgrade”…
