Whatever the awards show, you can always depend on these labels to provide a little glitz and glamour…
Another day, another red carpet – it must be awards season.
The 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in LA on Sunday, and while the actors were eyeing the gongs, we were busy ogling the gowns.
Stars including Emma Stone (who took out best actress for La La Land), Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman and Meryl Streep were decked out in designer threads, but some of our favourite looks came courtesy of Middle Eastern labels.
Designers including Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad pull it out the bag for many an awards show, and last night was no different.
So with no further ado, here’s the cream of the crop…

The Hidden Figures actress chose a frothy, bejewelled fairy-tale number from Reem Acra on the night. The daringly sheer fabric might have stolen headlines, but it was the open back, embellished high neck and dusky-rose hue that stole our hearts.
Sofia Vergara
The Modern Family star plumped for a glimmering strapless gown from Lebanese favourite Zuhair Murad, which stood out from the SAG crowd with its refreshing midi hemline. The latticed beading added extra interest, while the brick-red lippie perfectly complemented the Colombian actress’ olive skin.
Michelle Dockery
You can always rely on King of Couture Elie Saab to provide a real head-turner, and that’s exactly what the Downton Abbey star got with this floor-length striped number. From the popping colour palette to the bold orange lip, there’s nothing about this that we don’t love.
Taryn Manning
The Orange is the New Black actress plumped for a dress by Syrian designer Rami Al Ali to collect her trophy for Best Cast in a TV Comedy Series. The chic-but-simple cut dutifully lets the aubergine sheen take centre stage, while the candyfloss-pink locks are an inspired pairing.
Ariel Winter
So the Oscars might be next month, but this golden gown by Beirut-born Mikael D would make you think otherwise. The Modern Family star looks like she’s actually dripping in molten metal.
Yara Shahidi
Mumbai-born designer Naeem Khan, who’s a favourite of Jordan’s Queen Noor, decked out the Black-ish actress in this striking sequinned sheath. The vibrant turquoise and lavender stripes add extra punch along with the chevron detailing.
