Just in time for the winter (well, a Dubai winter that is), Boardwalk at The Palm Jumeirah has officially opened to the public.
The 11-kilometre walkway stretches all the way across the Palm’s outer crescent, from the Rixos Hotel on one side to the One & Only Hotel on the other.
The Boardwalk is accessible through 37 gates and will be eventually be lined with food trucks, cafés and kiosks.
Currently, only five food trucks have been installed, with an extra 25 hoping to set up shop before the end of the year.
If you’re heading there via car, there are around 350 free-of-charge parking spaces lining the walkway.

Between the Boardwalk and the newly opened Dubai Canal, joggers shouldn’t have a problem when it comes to picking a scenic route.
It looks like some people have already started taking advantage…
The view doesn’t look too shabby either…
However, if you’re a cyclist looking to check out the Boardwalk, we’re sorry – it’s prioritised for pedestrians.

“It’s already proving a popular spot for jogging, walking and sightseeing. We’re expecting many more visitors as the peak tourist season gets under way,” Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah told The National.
“We are very excited about this project because it will give residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy their leisure time in an area that is safe and attractive.”
Aside from the Boardwalk, there are also plans to build four new 1.6 kilometre-long promenades – two on each side of the Palm’s centre trunk – connecting the fronds to the soon-to-be Palm West Beach which will stretch along the length of the trunk.
Each pier will be constructed out of 1,000 square metres of decking and lined with cafes and restaurants, while the six-metre-wide Boardwalk itself has been built over the Palm’s breakwater rocks.
Some of the eateries will be glass-fronted, meaning diners will get a million-dollar view over the Palm and Arabian Gulf.
Now there’ll be no more saying there’s nothing to do on the Palm but go to hotels…
