London followed in the wake of NYC’s edgy glamour with shows A/W13 shows bursting with rock chick aesthetic, the come-back of camouflage and hats a go-go.
Our very own Style Editor, Jade Sprowson was there to witness all of the LFW action, from Cara Delevingne mania to the in-demand, invitation only, Tom Ford show. Find out what she has to report back…
THE GIRLS
Hands down to the girls that had to follow Kloss, Dunn and Delevingne at Burberry Prorsum show
I saw more of ‘the IT girls’ of the moment, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne than my very own fashion week friends. The famous three-some pounded down catwalk after catwalk, often following in each other’s footsteps.
I’m unsure whether I have model overload or three new obsessions. *Pauses to search for Karlie Kloss on Instagram*
THE SOUNDTRACK
Even if you don’t read the rest of my blog, you must, must, MUST watch this video!
Burberry’s heart-felt show, packed a punch when the glassed encased catwalk in Kensington Gardens filled with the love song ‘Happy Together’ and a live performance from Tom Odell, singing ‘Hold Me’. I don’t know whether it was Karlie Kloss, the music or the location but I was certainly swooning over Christopher Bailey’s Trench Kisses collection.
THE FROW
Olivia Palermo graced the FROW at Anya Hindmarch
I sat opposite Olivia Palermo chatting to Daisy Lowe and Arizona Muse at Matthew Williamson.
Glamorous actresses’ Frieda Pinto, Kate Beckinsale and Rosie Huntington-Whititely were all smiles at Burberry.
Justin Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel chatted happily with Vogue’s Anna Wintour at Tom Ford.
Richard E Grant and Tom Odell looking super suave at Anya Hindmarch’s ‘Cascade’ show.
Topshop Unique had the pleasure of Kate Bosworth, One Direction’s Louis Tomlison, Daisey Lowe and Olivia Palermo.
THE ‘IT’ ACCESSORY
Issa
Hats, hats and more hats graced the heads of London’s beauties in the majority of the shows held at London Fashion week this year. The Issa girls donned Seventies head-wear with feathers as long as an arm, whilethe Felder and Felder girls rocked the studded bowler – my pick.
THE HIGH LIGHT
I was the envy of many a fashionista when I found the Tom Ford invite waiting in my suite at Claridge’s. Even the London cabbies were gossiping about this in-demand show.
Held in Lancaster House, in true Tom Ford style, male models lined the stairs, entrances and corners, serving long stemmed glasses of fizz. The low lighting, the baroque décor and the sleek DJ box had Tom Ford’s sleeker than sleek style all over it.
The venue was so extravagant that Vogue US even popped the impressive, fire lit entrance on their instagram page, as of course Emirates Woman did!
The fashion aristocrat, Tom Ford displayed an awe inspiring “cross cultural multi-ethnic”
I hope you enjoyed my highlights of LFW, please follow the link for some of fashion week looks, here.
Until next time,
