We told you last month about Muchachas, the contemporary Mexican joint opening in Dubai in the very near future.
The brainchild of Bull & Roo (yes, the brand behind local must-eats Tom & Serg, The Sum Of Us, Common Grounds and Brunswick Sports Club) is opening in the next couple of weeks, and we’ve just discovered where the caliente new restaurant will be located.
The new licensed cantina will open its doors inside the Holiday Inn Express near Safa Park (just opposite the Gulf News Building).
“We love to create cool spots in places that are different and a little removed from your ‘typical’ restaurant spots,” said c0-founder Tom Arnel. “Muchachas is no exception – tucked away in the ‘burbs away from the hustle and bustle of the city.”

The location is just off Sheikh Zayed Road, right next to the where the new Dubai Canal will sit once it’s completed.
The eatery, which has been described as “super sassy and energetic”, promises modern Mexican fare that’s “fast, powerful, crunchy, zingy, zesty, salty, sweet and made for sharing”.
The finishing touches are currently being put on the venue, which will feature decor tailored towards women (hence the name) – think neon lights, quirky art and heaps of pastel hues.
The menu hasn’t yet been released, but Muchachas previewed food from the cantina at Taste of Dubai earlier this year. Here’s a little teaser of what you could expect:
The exact opening date is still under wraps, but the team behind Muchachas promise it’ll be early August.
This will also be the first restaurant from the Tom & Serg team that will require a reservation, so remember to phone ahead and book a table once it’s open.
