Whether you drive your own car or you are one of the many commuters who make the most of Dubai’s public transport systems, you need to read this update on how the long weekend could affect you.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced there will be some slight changes to schedules and transport-related services during the Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj, holiday on May 5.
Here’s a breakdown of how it will affect you, according to Yousef Al Reda, CEO of RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector:
Car Parking
All paid parking zones will be free across the emirate on Thursday with the exception of multi-level parking lots and the Fish Market parking area. Paid parking services will be reactivated on Saturday, May 7.

Metro
On Thursday, May 5, the Green Line stations will be in service from 5.50 am to 1am (of the following day). On Wednesday, May 4, and Saturday, May 7, stations will be in service from 5.50am to midnight. On Friday May 5, stations will be operating from 10am up to 1am (of the following day).
On Wednesday, May 4, and Saturday, May 7, the Red Line stations will be in service from 5.30am to midnight. On Thursday, May 5, stations will be in service from 5.30am to 1am (of the following day), and on Friday, May 6, stations will be operating from 10am up to 1am (of the following day).
Dubai Tram
Service will be as normal on Thursday, May 5, and Saturday May 7 from 6.30am to 1am (of the following day), and on Friday May 6 from 9am until 1am (of the following day).

Dubai Buses
Gold Souk bus station will operate from 4.25am to 1am (of the following day). Al Ghubaiba Station will be in service from 5am to midnight. Sub-stations such as Satwa, will start from 5am to 11.15pm except for Route C01, which operates, around-the-clock. Al Qusais Station will run bus service from 4.40am to 11.10pm; Al Quoz Industrial Station will start operation from 5am to 11.35pm. Jebel Ali Station will start business from 5.40am 9.45pm.
