Whether you’re looking for a career change but are stumped for ideas or you’re sat around wondering how you can be part of the Expo 2020, you may be in luck. Expo 2020’s Apprenticeship & Training Programme has launched, and involves a nine-month career development and training programme from August 30 to June 2017 that incorporates a work placement within Expo 2020.

According to the site: “In addition to a work placement in Expo 2020, you will engage in skill building activities, applied business challenges, panel discussions, ongoing mentorship, networking opportunities and an individual capstone project.”
There will be positions for the Apprenticeship & Training Programme in the following departments: Bureau, Commercial Partners, Communications, Culture, Engagement, Event Operations, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Human Resources, Legacy, Marketing & Graphic Design, Participant Affairs, Procurement, Project Management Office, Protocol, Events, Ceremonies & Hospitality, Real Estate, Themes & Exhibits, Volunteers.
While no pay package has been announced yet, a source at Expo 2020 told Emirates Woman that the apprentices will be compensated somehow, stating: “At this moment, they are just collecting the applications before entering into an applicant screening process.”

There are a certain set of criteria however if you wish to apply: The Programme is only open to unemployed university or college graduates holding a bachelor’s or higher diploma degree, and are under age 28.

There are more positions on offer than just those from the Apprenticeship and Training Programme. Here are five professional positions that are also up for grabs:
Senior Architecture Manager
Responsible for the design and project management of various architectural components for the Real Estate Delivery.
Project Manager of the Expo Live Innovation Grant Programme
Responsible for coordinating all dimensions of the Expo Live grant programme, engaging the relevant line functions across Expo 2020 and ensuring reporting and follow-up.
Director of the Expo Live Innovation Grant Programme
Will manage the Expo Live Innovation Grant Programme, providing leadership in formulating and implementing the work programme as well as managing the grant administration process.
Assistant Cost Manager Contracts
Responsible for supporting Managers in the Contracts Department in respect to Tactical and Strategic Projects across the project lifecycle.
Contracts Manager
Responsible for managing the Commercial Activities of Expo 2020, liaising between internal teams and the Project Management Consultancy and conducting contract reviews across the complete project lifecycle.
