“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” said Confucius and it seems most workers in the UAE have done just that.
According to a new report by job site bayt.com, the vast majority of us all love going to work.
Shocked? We were, too but apparently an overwhelming 86.7 per cent of workers in the MENA region claim they are “satisfied with how enjoyable it is to go to work every morning.”

The report by bayt.com, revealed that 67.6 per cent of workers were ”completely satisfied” with 19.1 per cent being “somewhat satisfied”.
The Workplace Satisfaction in the Middle East and North Africa report also revealed that more than three quarters of respondents (79.2 per cent) are satisfied with the recognition they receive at work for their accomplishments. So it seems those appraisals are doing well.

While we reported back in March that pay rises are unlikely in 2016, the report revealed that most workers are already content with their wages with 52.4 per cent stating they are happy with what they receive.
“It is pleasing to see that the majority of respondents to our poll are satisfied with their current jobs, providing an overall positive outlook with workplace satisfaction in the MENA region,” said Suhail Masri, VP of Employer Solutions, bayt.com. “It is highly essential to acknowledge that employee satisfaction is an important factor in boosting the reputation and performance of an organisation, and meeting the needs of its employees.”

The report comes at the same time as another report revealing the best sectors for salary hikes in the UAE. HR, marketing, engineering, finance, sales, admin and IT topped the list, so if you were one of the small percentage that is dissatisfied at work then these could be potentially new sectors to look in to too…
