OK, bear with us. We know with Arab Fashion Week, Fashion Forward and a whole host of others that the news of Dubai Collections hitting town as well might be a little overwhelming, but it’s definitely worth some attention…
Dubai Collections is the latest industry fashion event to launch and it’s one you really need to consider, and not just because it will be hosted at the prestigious spot of Burj Khalifa.
Here’s exactly why Dubai Collections should be on your radar from March 24 to 25:
Another fashion event? We’re fashion fans ‘n all, but what makes this one stand out please?
We’re glad you asked. Dubai Collections is pretty unique as events go. It’s the brainchild of Emaar and in a first for the region, designers across the Middle East and North Africa have been invited to be a part of it by a committee of fashion types – you know, industry professionals and influencers and the like. People who know what they’re talking about, basically.

It’s catwalk shows for the industry, so what if I’m just a regular joe?
Well actually, it is an industry-focused platform, but if you register on the website, you can go and shop in the pop-up boutiques, visit the fashion gallery (charting the designers’ journeys) and sit in on talks by international guest speakers. That way you can get your voice heard too and debate how we can all support regional design talent.
The whole thing is endorsed by Dubai Design & Fashion Council and “supports the council’s mission to strengthen Dubai’s global credentials in the fashion industry while nurturing the next generation of talent in the region,” Mr Ahmad Al Falasi, Executive Director of Group Operations at Emaar Properties told us. He sounds like he’s quite important.

Great, we’ll bring our ‘Team Dubai’ banner. Who are we supporting exactly?
All your faves as well as a few you might not have heard of. Endemage, House of Nomad, Madiyah Al Sharqi, Taller Marmo and a few others are showcasing their wares on the catwalk, while Bouguessa and Mochi have stand-alone exhibitions. And you can shop to your heart’s content at Bil Arabi, L’Afshar and Nathalie Trad.
We like shopping.
You and us both. We’ll see you there, then.
