A new version of the Visit Abu Dhabi app has been released, serving as the ultimate travel companion to everything in the UAE capital.
Developed by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), the Visit Abu Dhabi app is now available for iPhone, Android and Windows phones. While it isn’t necessarily a new app, but after a string of upgrades and enhancements it might as well be.
It’ll allow you to see everything going on within your immediate area, with a built in ‘Augmented Reality’ function showing you the closest points of interest identifiable via your phone’s camera. so see a major building but not sure what it is? Take a picture and the app should be able to help identify it for you.

It’s basically the ultimate travel buddy, all neatly packaged into your smartphone. You can check out prayer times, upcoming events, and it’s even got a photo and video gallery of the city for you to check out.
There’s also a currency converter built in, and the app will also allow you to book taxis, hotels, flights and rental cars with ease.
Visit Abu Dhabi has even integrated itself with TripAdvisor, so you can check out the reviews of the of the listed hotels, restaurants and spas before you head there.

Oh, and did we mention the app also comes in nine languages? Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Chiene options are all available, making it ideal for multi-national tourists and new residents.
No data? No problem. It’s got a great location-based offline mobile guide too, giving you the details on Abu Dhabi’s attractions, experiences, culture, heritage, hotels and restaurants.
