The Victoria’s Secrets Fashion show is the highlight of the year for most. Worldwide everyone tunes in to watch the globe’s best models strut down the runway in skimpy underwear sets, however there’s always one piece that truly manages to take our attention away from those enviable washboard abs – the Fantasy Bra. Luckily for Dubai fans, the dazzling underwear is making its way to our shores.
Last November we were all in awe when Victoria’s Secret veteran, Lily Aldridge confidently strutted down the runway at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show wearing the US$2 million jewel-encrusted Fantasy Bra created by the Lebanese jewellery house, Mouawad.

The bra was so bling that if the swirls of blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz failed to dazzle you, the 1,300-carats worth of diamonds and precious stones that sat upon Lily’s chest wouldn’t.

For those who weren’t lucky enough to see the Victoria’s Secret show live, fear not as on January 14 and 15, the multi-million dollar bra, which took a staggering 685 hours to construct, will be on display at Mouawad boutique in The Dubai Mall.
While customers won’t be able to try on the bra, they can get up close and take in the stunning craftsmanship.

This isn’t the first time Mouawad have created a bra for the most famous catwalk show in the world, the Fantasy bra is in fact the eight bra that the jeweller has produced. The first was the Heavenly Star bra, modelled by Heidi Klum, that came in at a whooping US$12.5 million dollars, and was studded with 1,200 Sri Lankan pink sapphires and a 90-carat emerald centrepiece.

Back in 2013, Adriana Lima graced the UAE’s shores to showcase Mouawad’s US$10 million Royal Fantasy Bra. An 18-carat gold belt and bra adorned with rubies, yellow and blue sapphires and diamonds, which was actually worn by fellow angel Candice Swanepoel on the catwalk.

Other lucky Angels who have been lucky enough to slip on a diamond-encrusted Fantasy Bra include Alessandra Ambrosi, Miranda Kerr, Mirisa Miller, Selita Ebanks, Karolina Kurkova, Gisele Bündchen, Tyra Banks, Daniela Pestova and Claudia Schiffer who was the first model to debut the Fantasy Bra 2006.
