If the food looks good, why can’t the chef too? Slavic restaurant and lounge Vesna have now launched their Model Tuesdays concept. Which, as you would expect, involves models. This time however, the models aren’t just standing around looking pretty, they’re the ones in the kitchen preparing your meals.
Each week, at Vesna Restaurant in the Conrad Hotel, a different male or female model will be in the kitchen whipping up a storm alongside the resident chef, with the option of cooking up either something off the Vesna menu, or a favourite dish of their own.

The model will then step from behind the kitchen and mingle among customers in the restaurant to share samples of their food with the guests, and offer the guests an opportunity to ask questions about the model’s life, diet, gym routine, or if they’re getting on well perhaps swap numbers (OK, we made that very last bit up. One can only dream).
For now, the models are all Dubai-based. But if the concept takes off, Vesna will be bringing in models from far and wide. We’re seriously hoping for Kate Moss to serve us a delicious risotto.
Vesna was opened by Ukrainian model and singer turned entrepreneur, Alexandra Vovchenko, who opened the restaurant soon after moving to Dubai. Vovchenko plans to kick-start the Tuesday Model Nights herself, and will be the first model in the kitchen cooking up some of Vesna’s signature dishes. Afterwards, she’ll talk about her various life experiences and successful projects.

Don’t expect a full-on sit-down meal though, the night looks to be more lounge focused, with nibbles being passed around as well as samples of the model’s chosen meal.
For the ladies, there’ll be three complimentary drinks between 8pm and 10pm, and for the gents… well, there’ll be models.
