Chanel has announced it is set to launch its first ever spa in the former home of its founder Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel – Ritz Paris.
Called Chanel au Ritz Paris the luxury spa, which will be a unique beauty destination dedicated to the brand’s skincare, is scheduled to open at the end of the year.
The launch of the spa, which is predicted to be a top sanctuary, will coincide with the reopening of the five star hotel that has been under renovation since July 2012. The brand said: “Located in the Ritz Club, Chanel au Ritz Paris will provide women with a unique sensorial and customized experience, inspired by Chanel’s art of skincare.”
While it has been confirmed that Chanel au Ritz Paris will feature a range of signature treatments using Chanel’s famous beauty products, it is not yet clear whether the spa is likely to open at any of the hotel’s other branches.
Choosing to launch the first spa at Ritz Paris is a powerful move in paying homage to the late, great Mademoiselle Coco who lived in the hotel for 34 years. The brand further explained: “The story linking Chanel and the Ritz Paris would not be complete without the opening of a new Coco Chanel suite inspired by the one she originally occupied and by the decor she loved so much.”
Mademoiselle Chanel moved into the Ritz Paris at the start of the 1930s. Making it her home during World War Two she brought in her own furniture, including her beige suede sofa with its quilted cushions and her folding screen made from lacquered Coromandel.
If the spa is to reflect Coco and her exquisite taste then it’s sure to be one of the most pleasurable spas in the world.
