Back in September 2014 we witnessed fashion history when Burberry united supermodels Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss to promote its new scent My Burberry. With the campaign proving a huge success, it’s no surprise that other brands are hoping to cash in on the ‘lethal combination’, with high street favourite Mango choosing the pair for its autumn/winter 2015 campaign.
The powerful model duo have been unveiled as the new faces for the Spanish brand’s new adverts entitled #somethingincommon, which was shot in Canada by renowned Dutch photographers Inez and Vinoodh. While Kate Moss has fronted two campaigns for Mango before, in 2011 and 2012, it is the first time she does so as a pair. However, it is a role both the 41-year-old and her 22-year-old protégé are relishing, with Cara Delevingne insisting: “We are a lethal combination. I admire her personally and professionally, she represents a true fashion icon.”
“Mango is great,” added Cara, revealing her love for the popular high street brand. “When I think about what to wear every day, I like to be creative and Mango is a perfect brand to play with the range of styles there are nowadays. This is the first time I have worked with Mango and having Kate as my partner in crime is ideal!”
Insisting Kate has been a great teacher during her modeelling career, she added: “It is a privilege to learn and to share this experience with her. The shoot has been epic, it’s always fun when Miss Moss is around.”
Kate was equally as enthused to be reunited with pal Cara and also with the label. She said: “It’s so great to be working with Mango again, they are such a fresh and modern brand. Inez & Vinoodh have captured the energy of the shoot perfectly, Cara and I always have fun together and you really can see that in this campaign.”
Well, we are certainly excited and can’t wait to see more of this fabulous ‘lethal combination’.
