Last night saw the grand opening of the first Zayan The Label standalone store at the Galleria Mall, complete with a pop-up flower shop-come-ice-cream corner.
The region’s style elite headed to the new boutique to support one of our favourite local designers, Zayan Ghandour, as she proudly opened the doors to her first stand alone store for her brand, Zayan The Label, which is in now in its seventh season.
One display was the Zayan the Label spring/summer 2015 collection, Take me Home, which takes the classic novel, Little House on the Prairie as a primary reference point. Inspired by floral tapestries and referencing nostalgic fabrics and vintage motifs that are, in signature Zayan The Label style, juxtaposed against unexpected textiles such as light-as-a-feather sport-lux aertex in ultra-modern billowing floaty shapes and cuts.
The collection features incredibly intricate prairie-esque details: delicate confetti-coloured beading on open crochet, layered, ruffled and colour-blocked lace in pink and white against vintage cream-laced trims and fleuro coral cross-stitched navy, coral and silver butterfly appliques on black organza.
To complement the collection, guests were served floral-themed finger foods designed by culinary creatives Fait Maison Cuisine, while a pop-up flower shop meant guests could pick up some blooms while shopping the delightful collection.
Zayan the Label is located in The Galleria Mall on Al Wasl Road, Dubai. (04) 3440104
