The great and good of the Dubai fashion world descended on the Madinat Arena to witness what fabulousness Harvey Nichols-Dubai has bought for spring summer 15. Entering through a magical, foliage-filled secret garden, giant keys, wrought iron benches and fountains set the scene for a catwalk show filled with wonder. Looks from Mary Katrantzou, Chloé, Kenzo and Isabel Marant were showcased on the runway set in the round and verdant arena; circling a gnome and Wellington boot-laden garden fountain. A sense of whimsy abounded, with models’ hair spun into candyfloss-like beehives and plaits.
The show ended with a party. The DJ, standing on a grass-covered stage, spun tunes by Kiesza while canapés and bubbles were passed around. Attention to detail and a beautiful crowd; now that’s our kind of evening.
