When we say stickers we don’t mean those sticky pictures of your favourite actors (mine was Keanu Reeves circa 1990s – thanks Smash Hits magazine) or bands (my sister had some awesome Duran Duran ones), no, Anya Hindmarch’s stickers are uber-stylish, luxurious and of the leather variety. From alphabetical letters to speech bubbles, smiley faces and fried eggs, the collection gives you the opportunity to add a unique touch to your wardrobe whether its customising your bag, iPhone and other accessories with playful and personal signs. Stickers took centre stage at Anya Hindmarch’s spring/summer 2015 Fixation collection, showcasing the designer’s passion for personalisation in a contemporary context, reminiscent of schoolgirl nostalgia.
“Spring/summer 2015 was inspired by the idea of taking stickers that were my schoolgirl version of ‘personalisation’ but making them beautifully and handcrafted in leather,” said Anya. “My idea was that you can ’sticker up’ your handbag or phone or notebook and make it into your own personal artwork or buy bags that already have sticker designs worked into the leather. I love the combination of a grown up snakeskin handbag smothered in leather stickers.”
Developed in collaboration with Chaos Fashion, the Anya Hindmarch Sticker Shop concept is available in Boutique 1, Mall of the Emirates with a two-week long pop-up shop and window display. It’s time to be unique and seriously playful. Send us pictures of your results… Happy Shopping.
