“Im kind of effectively bipolar,” said Emily Blunt in an interview, however during the Dubai International Film Festival the actress was positively only one thing – fabulous in every sense. Proving her style credentials, the Devil Wears Prada star dazzled in an array of designer dresses throughout and when papped and interviewed on the red carpet she was all jovial – her laugh is contagious – and chatty. Emily Blunt was in Dubai not only to help choose the winner for the prestigious IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Award but also to promote her new movie Into The Woods, a musical based on the Broadway show, in which she rejoins with her Devil Wears Prada co-star Meryl Streep.
Her advice to filmmakers and anyone wanting to join the competitive film industry was to “wear a helmet. It’s a tough industry and you have to learn not to take things too personally.”
One of the many things we learned from the mother-of-one, who is married to actor John Krasinski, is that she loves Dubai. “I love it,” she gushed while in our sunny shores. “I have not been before and the people are amazing. I have explored it a bit. I have been to the enormous mall, the biggest mall I’ve ever seen, it was amazing and the beaches are gorgeous. I wish I was here for longer as I really wanted to see the desert, maybe next time. I would love to come back, perhaps for the Grand Prix.”
