It seems there’s no rest for the beautiful, especially Karlie Kloss, who fresh from starring in the highly anticipated Victoria’s Secret fashion show, has now launched her most recent campaign with designer Jason Wu.
Karlie Kloss stars in the fashion labels spring/summer 2015 campaign alongside the designer himself. The 22-year-old beauty wows in a series of outfits from the latest collection from Jason Wu whose accolades include designing dresses for Michelle Obama on several occasions, including during first and second inauguration of American President Barack Obama.
Although Karlie has walked the runways for Jason Wu, the campaign actually marked Karlie’s first time fronting his line. The campaign was styled by Ludivine Poiblanc and shot by renowned photographers by Inez and Vinoodh. The ads were set on location at the famous Grand Central Oyster Bar with a table featuring coffee, dessert and even a lobster roll. Taking centre stage with Karlie was the New York-based designer and his famous Diane Bag.
Jason is renowned for forgoing the usual high-gloss campaign synonymous with prestigious fashion campaigns. Instead he chooses models of the moment – Karlie, who is also best pals with American sweetheart Taylor Swift, is certainly that – and puts they in a unique New York settings that best represents his collection. Padst models from the so-called Supermodel Supper Club have included Christy Turlington Burns, Stephanie Seymour and Adriana Lima. All the campaigns have been shoty by Inez and Vinoodh with art direction from Patrick Li – well, you know what they say: “If it ain’t broke…”
Discussing his choice of model for the spring/summer 2015 campaign, the designer said: “After the Spring show, Inez came up to me and said it should be Karlie. She stole the show in this black shirtdress, and she’s one of my dearest friends. The collection was really about all-American beauty, and she is the essence of that in every way.”
