Last night saw the official launch of the La Montre watch by Isabel Marant during a private and star-studded dinner in Paris. Only 3,000 watches have been made and are being sold exclusively online net-a-porter.com.
The stainless steel La Montre watch, with Swiss parts movement was inspired by a watch Isabel’s father gave to her. Retro in shape, but modern in its design, the watch captures the cool, androgynous Parisian aesthetic Isabel Marant is famous for. Each of the watches are individually numbered and feature leather strap, stainless steel case, sapphire glass and a black enamel dial.
“Everyone loves Isabel Marant it’s the ultimate designer brand for that cool Parisian look that all women want to emulate. We know Isabel Marant fans will love the chic and sophisticated elegance of La Montre. It’s the perfect finishing touch to any outfit,” says Ben Matthews, Buying Manager, net-a-porter.com.
Like everything she designs, the watch is super-cool and wearable. It’s water resistant to 50m and is as much a fashion accessory as it is functional. Isabel Marant, Founder and Creative Director says: “I aspired to create the androgenic synthesis of my ideal watch; a watch that brings back joyful and loving memories. I was happy to share this project with net-a-porter.com, who has been close to me for many years now.” The dinner was hosted by Isabel and net-a-porter.com President, Alison Loehnis at a private house on Rue de Verenne.
The originally empty house had been completely redecorated to emulate Isabel’s house. Paintings scattered the walls and shelves as did bohemian cushions on the velvet sofas. After the aperitif, the star-studded guests who included actress Juliette Binoche, model and author Caroline de Maigret, fashion blogger Susie Lau and renowned architect Franklin Azzi moved into the kitchen to feast on the finest of French fare including wood-fired goose, cheese and chocolate mousse. Isabel described the dinner like her ”wedding day” as she took the time to go to each table to chat with her guests. With 17 boutiques around the globe (including Dubai) Isabel Marant is expanding and coming to the Middle East in December but we are sure the watches will be sold out by then, so log to get yours delivered from net-a-porter.com ASAP.
