Travel secrets from the world’s most discerning jetsetters. This week Italian actress Christiana Capotondi reveals her all about her bon voyage secrets…
My must-pack items…
I need my watch. For me you have to be in a comfortable dress when you travel and if you add some accessories like a beautiful Jaeger-LeCoultre watch you always look classy and elegant. You’re off the flight, but ready to go to the most important rendezvous in NY.
My travel tip is…
Always travel with a small bag with enough clothes for two days. My luggage got lost once and I spent the week in the same dress. Now I always have two dresses in a carry-on and some beauty products, but not make-up. Make-up is part of my job, so I really have to give my skin a moment of peace.
Favourite destination…
I always try to travel near the sea. It’s the best place for me to relax and get the energy to come back to work. But it has to be the Mediterranean Sea!
Best shopping destination…
I live in Milan and it’s a very interesting place to shop. I usually buy Dolce & Gabbana and Marni as they really are made in Italy, but I also like cheaper, interesting boutiques, especially in the Brera district, which is the most artistic block in Milan.
Most adventurous holiday…
In and around Cape Town – it was an incredible experience. It’s really wild! I love the sea and wildlife, but I wouldn’t even dip my legs in the ocean as we’d seen sharks in it earlier that morning!
Favourite holiday soundtrack…
I like all the Italian music from the 50s and 60s. I also have some Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake on my playlist.
Favourite items to shop for…
I’m really interested in handmade items, I find these more special. I’m into 100 per cent natural beauty products too.
The best souvenir ever purchased…
Was from Greece, where I went this summer. I brought handcrafted candles, a blue candleholder and some lovely vintage artwork.
Cristiana is a friend of Jaeger-LeCoultre and is currently starring in Un ragazzo d’oro and Soap Opera.
