Topshop’s Christmas campaign is always hotly anticipated, but this year they’ve joined forces with the unstoppable force that is Cara Delevingne, and the result scorching.
With copious amounts of faux-fur, plenty of jump suits and party dresses, not to mention lashings of glitter, the festive Topshop campaign, starring Cara Delevingne, is everything a festive party girl could dream of. The collection has a very vintage-glam feel, reflected in the retro campaign video, which sees Cara showering herself with baubles and using a disco ball as a punch bag.
The model, who is single handedly responsible for re-launching the eyebrow, brings her goofy charm to the video. As always, pairing her silly attitude with a killer wardrobe. “Happy Holidays! … Why was I waving like that, that’s very lame, sorry,” she says in the opening sequence.
The Christmas ad comes after Cara successfully fronted the Topshop autumn/winter 2014 collection, which was also the brand’s first ever solo campaign. The campaign even has the same dream team from the seasonal advert with both photographer Alasdair McLellan and creative director Kate Phelan rejoining Cara in the festive video and shoot. It’s a match made in high street heaven. The collection officially launches today online and in stores, but we fear it may take slightly longer to filter through to the UAE.
Supermodel Cara has also made headlines lately for bagging the lead role in film Paper Towns – she was heard testing out her American accent at Topshop’s VIP dinner in New York last Tuesday. She’s set to play Margo in the Jake Schreier adaptation of John Green’s famous novel. Being as he’s the same author who brought us The Fault In Our Stars, which was a hit in the book charts as well as the box office, we’re extremely excited about this book-film project.
Jake Schreier has already given Cara a big reputation to live up to when, speaking of her audition earlier this year, he said: “It was something special.”
Is there any stopping Ms Delevingne?
