If you were lucky enough to get an invitation, and brave enough to push your way through the hordes of fans, paparazzi and gridlocked cars, the Moschino show at Milan Fashion Week was a style extravaganza and a fabulous party all rolled into one.
With a stellar soundtrack, dancing audience and the brash yet brilliant designs of Jeremy Scott, the sartorial world was waiting to see what it would be wearing after the ‘fast fashion’ collection.
As the lights dimmed and Hiya Barbie blasted from the speakers, the Moschino Barbie, in all her pink bubble gum glory, roller-skated onto the catwalk.
Having taken every style situation into account, Scott had Workout Barbie complete with Moschino weights, tracksuit and sweatbands, Summer Barbie with her lilo handbag and oversized sunglasses and even Western Barbie with a choice of white or pink cowboy boots.
With the yellow camera, mules and plastic jewellery, the accessory highlights and the evening wear, which can only be worn by the very brave few, the looks have already made the Moschino McDonald’s pieces from last season seem so passé.
