Did you hear that? It’s the sound of hearts breaking everywhere as reports claim that Eva Mendes has given birth to Ryan Gosling’s baby. The couple are said to be proud parents of a little girl.
Insiders close to the couple claim that baby Gosling-Mendes was born on Friday, September 12 in Los Angeles. However, the notoriously private couple have not actually confirmed the pregnancy, let alone the birth. News that the Hollywood stars were expecting didn’t start to circulate until July, when its thought that Eva Mendes was seven months pregnant. There are no reports of a name, and we wouldn’t hold out on hearing of one any time soon.
Eva denied pregnancy rumours back in Februrary, which were sparked after she refused to walk through a body scanner at the airport. She dismissed claims as ridiculous. “It all started because I didn’t want to go through the scanners at the airport,” she said to Ellen DeGeneres at the time. “You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there’s a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out.”
Reports say that their baby girl is the spitting image of its mamma. “Everyone is saying the baby looks like Eva and has her features,” the source told E! Online. But with such gorgeous parents it doesn’t really matter who she takes after.
Eva Mendes, 40, and Ryan Gosling, 33, met in 2011 while filming The Place Beyond the Pines. Heartthrob Ryan previously made women weak at the knees claiming: “I’d like to be making babies but I’m not, so I’m making movies. When someone comes along, I don’t think I’ll be able to do both and I’m fine with that. I’ll make movies until I make babies.”
Before starting a romance with Eva, Ryan had dated Sandra Bullock, who is 16 years his senior, and fellow Notebook star Rachel McAdams. The pair were together for several years before breaking up in 2007 and, although it’s been a long time, a source told OK magazine that 35-year-old Rachel is “devastated”.
