It’s the news every lover of all things Tinseltown has been waiting for – Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are married!
A spokesperson for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – who have both been dubbed Hollywood’s ‘most gorgeous’ – confirmed with the Associated Press that the pair had wed in France, with further reports adding that they married in a private ceremony attended only by close friends and family. The couple obtained their marriage license from a local California judge, who, according to the Huffington Post, also conducted the ceremony in France.
Brad popped the question to Angelina, with whom he has six children – Maddox, 13, Pax, 11. Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and twins Knox and Vivienne, six – in April 2013 but the pair insisted they were in no rush to walk down the aisle, saying they would wait until the right moment.
“We’re just waiting for it to be the right time with the kids, with work, when it feels right,” said Angelina. “We talk about it occasionally, and the kids talk about it with us, which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding. They will in a way be the wedding planners. It’s going to be Disney or paintball – one or the other! We’ve got a lot of different personalities in the house. They’ve got some strong opinions. It will be fun. That’s the important thing. When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family.”
While all the intricate details about what was sure to be a stunning wedding are yet to be revealed, we’re pretty certain it didn’t involve paintball. That said the children were involved in the ceremony – Angelina walked the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox and Pax. While Zahara and Vivienne were flowers girls and tomboy Shiloh and her brother Knox served as ring bearers.
The wedding is Angelina’s third marriage – she was previously married to actors Johnny Lee Miller (1996-1999) and Billy Bob Thorton (200-2003) – and Brad’s second – he was previously married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston.
The couple met while filming Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005. Even though Brad was married to American sweetheart Jennifer Aniston the pair began an affair that not only brought about the demise of Brad and Jennifer’s marriage but saw Angelina dubbed a marriage wrecker and thus started the on-going ‘Angelina versus Jennifer’ battle that has made a fortune for all tabloids.
