Had she not passed away in January 20, 1993, actress Audrey Hepburn would’ve celebrated her 85th birthday today. To honour the iconic star Google has changed its logo to feature an image of the brunette beauty.
Regarded as one of the most beautiful women of all time, Internet search giant Google’s decision to mark the 85th anniversary is a sign of the Brussels-born star’s power and importance in modern culture.
Renowned for her feminine poise, elfin features and elegant style, Audrey has remained an icon ever since her Broadway debut in Gigi in 1952.
While born in Brussels, the Breakfast At Tiffany’s actress spent her childhood between Belgium, England and the Netherlands, including German-occupied Arnhem during World War II. Her petite figure is attributed to her ballet training, which she began in Amsterdam and continued in London.
Although she is most famous for her role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany’s, her big cinema break was in Roman Holiday opposite Gregory Peck. She won an Academy Award for this role.
