As usual there is absolutely no shortage of things to do in the UAE this weekend. Abu Dhabi’s du Arena hosts an electric Creamfields line up this Friday with the mega acts including The Prodigy, Calvin Harris and red hot newcomers Disclosure. If you’re looking for something a little more laidback join us for these top picks…
STEP ON THE DEK
We’ve mentioned several times before how team EW loves a good post-work mingle. Today we’re sending our second December issue, The Festive Issue, to press (that’s twice as much EW love for you this holiday season) and we’ll be celebrating! We’re keeping it close to home and heading down to Dek on 8 at Media One Hotel for the Step On Xmas Party. Dubai’s favourite Indie night was cancelled last month due to the dramatic storm so this one is bound to be twice as fun.

ENTRANCING DANCE
This Friday, DUCTAC will be hosting the annual Sharmila Dance Gala. In its third year, the event promises to be a culture lover’s choreographed wonderland presented by some of the best local and international dance performers. We’re eager to see world famous dancer Alicia Amatriain and David Moore from the esteemed Stuttgart Ballet perform a piece from the classic Swan Lake and the mind and body-bending contortionist Olga Gregorieva from the Big Moscow Circus.

ALL-DAY FUN FARE
If you’re quietly confident that the collection of gifts under the tree is complete and your stockings are filled, join us for a mini-staycation at Maya Modern Mexican Kitchen at Le Royal Meridien. They have just launched the Friday All-Dayer. With the choice between the Mas Mas Maya brunch or the a la carte menu, beach and pool access as well as world-class DJ sets (including DJ Miss Ketty of Nikki Beach in St Tropez) from 1pm right through to 2am, we’ll really be kicking back and relaxing in style this weekend.
