Ciao fashionable people. I’m in the fabulous city of Milan with Italian powerhouse Fendi to see their exquisite S/S14 fashion show. Read on to see what I got up to in the style capital…
The Fendi frenzy! The Italian label was the one to watch during Milan Fashion Week with a very fabulous scrum developing pre-and post show.
The S/S14 show comprises genius laser cut fur that was so light it felt like chiffon, along with beautiful otherworldly dresses. See the sketch and look by Karl. Not forgetting the divine leather bags. Bellissima!
Fendi’s exhibition Fendi: Making Dreams, Fendi And The Cinema, was held at the iconic Cinema Manzoni in Milan. It celebrates the relationship between Fendi and the film industry and showcases pieces from Gwyneth Paltrow’s The Royal Tenenbaums fur to the magnificent coats worn by Madonna in Evita.
I couldn’t miss the 10 Corso Como café. It makes a great pit stop for lunch in-between appointments, and also allows you get to check out all the sartorialists who are in town. If you have time, wander through the great fashion collections and up to the top floor for books and exhibitions, you won’t be disappointed. We managed to catch Tony Viramontes’ great works of art.
The new Fendi store in the stunning 16th century Palazzo Carcassola-Grandi is a two-storey boutique that pays tribute to the brand’s roots with stunning Travertine marble, stone features and mesmerising works of art. Oh, and there’s a whole wall comprising thousands of bronze spikes with iconic Baguette bags hanging off them.
And relax! Kate Barry, Fendi’s Communications Manager and I launch an attack at the delicious pasteries and desserts from one of the oldest patisseries in Milan. Cova is quaint and carb-filled, which is the perfect ending to a few days in Milano. Arrivederci!
