Dior’s FW22 haute couture show was an emblematic celebration of folklore culture.
Unveiled at the Rodin Museum in Paris on Monday, the house’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri wanted to portray a connection between cultures, mythologies and all creative forms.
She did this by taking inspiration from Ukrainian artist Olesia Trofymenko’s depiction of the tree of life, which was utilised in the creative’s set design for the show.
Featuring long dresses and flowy silhouettes, the colour palette in the collection was dominated by neutral hues, accented with hints of navy, black and gold.
The couture pieces also featured a series of different patchworks and embroideries, bridging the gap between traditional and modern.
