A slider is a bite-sized burger. If you have older children, you could make these twice the size. 3 slices white bread, crusts removed.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 slices white bread, crusts removed
- 4tbsp milk
- 1 red onion (approx 125g/4½ oz), finely chopped
- 1tbsp olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 250g (9oz) chicken or turkey mince
- 2tsp dark soy sauce
- 3tbsp tomato chutney
- 1tsp tomato purée
- 2tbsp sunflower oil, for frying
- Salt and pepper, to season
METHOD
- Put the bread in a food processor and whiz to make breadcrumbs. Add the milk and leave to soak.
- Meanwhile, sauté the onion for five minutes in the olive oil until softened. Add the garlic and cook for a further minute.
- Transfer to a food processor and add the remaining ingredients. Season to taste and whiz for one minute to chop and combine.
- Heat the sunflower oil in a large frying pan. Drop the mixture in tablespoons into the pan. Press down slightly using a wet teaspoon. Sauté for two to three minutes on each side or until golden and cooked through.
