Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to make their first international trip together since stepping down as senior royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be travelling to The Netherlands this week to open the Invictus Games, which was delayed by two years due to the pandemic.
While Prince Harry has travelled internationally since relocating to North America, making a few trips to the UK over the last couple of years, this marks the Duchess of Sussex’s first trip abroad since the couple’s move.
The Duke and Duchess will also reportedly be filming the trip for their upcoming Netflix series.
Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games back in 2014 to support the rehabilitation of injured servicemen and women through the means of competition.
It was at the third Invictus Games in 2017, which took place in Toronto, Canada, where Prince Harry and Meghan made one of their first public appearances as a couple.
Just a few months after this the couple announced their engagement and went on to wed the following May in 2018.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now have two children together, Archie who was born in May 2019, and Lilibet born in June 2021. It’s unknown if the little ones will make the long journey to Holland with their parents.
This trip marks the first international visit for the couple since they stepped down from their positions as senior royals at the beginning of 2020. The pair explained in a statement that this was due to the intense media scrutiny they were under and also wanted to move to lead a more private life.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Canada for a short period of time before moving to Montecito, California.
