Iconic restaurant La Serre has closed its doors in its Downtown Dubai location after nearly a decade.

However, fret not, the Parisian-inspired restaurant is set to open four new venues across the UAE later this year.

The four locations include three in Dubai – Jumeirah, Dubai Design District and Mall of the Emirates – and one in Abu Dhabi in Yas Mall.

La Serre first opened its doors on the corner of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard nine years ago in 2013 and quickly became a firm favourite on the Dubai restaurant scene.

However, according to Ralph Homer, chief executive and founder of Lincoln Holding, the refresh for the La Serre brand is about embracing “market-driven needs”.

“New times require new revolutionary ideas and vision,” he said in a statement. “While La Serre has been and will remain an iconic brand with its famous boulangerie and bistro offerings, it is important to embrace market-driven needs.

“Prime locations with sustainable offerings that can be franchised and operated within our brand guidelines are what the future dictates for us.”

As well as their new UAE branches, La Serre will be expanding further across the GCC and internationally.

Plans are in place to open in Riyadh, London and Qatar.

“We are excited to grow our portfolio in this direction, with 30 new La Serre branches across the GCC, Asia and Europe,” Homer said.
