After a busy month walking the runways for some of the biggest fashion houses in the world, Gigi Hadid has pledged that her earnings from all shows will be donated.
Amidst the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops under orders from President Vladimir Putin, the supermodel announced she would be giving her earnings to relief efforts to support the country, as well as continued relief efforts in Palestine, the country where her father is from.
Acknowledging the “heartbreaking and traumatic” time that occurred during fashion month this year, the 26-year-old declared she was following in the footsteps of Mica Argañaraz by donating her earnings from the shows she walked in which included the likes of Isabel Marant, Michael Kors, Versace, Off White and many more.
“Having a set fashion month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history,” she said on Instagram.

“We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something. Following in the footsteps of my friend Mica Argañaraz, I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”
She continued: “Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war, not leaders. HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE.”
Gigi’s pledge comes after many fashion brands have confirmed their solidarity, standing with Ukraine.
Renowned fashion houses including Chanel, Hermes and Cartier all announced they would be suspending operations in Russia.
Similarly, fashion giants LVMH, which owns brands Givenchy, Bulgari and Christian Dior, and Kering, which owns luxury houses including Gucci, Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta, would also be halting operations.
Additionally, LVMH pledged a donation to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to help victims of the conflict and Kering announced it had made a “significant donation” to UNHCR, the United Nations Refugees Agency.
