Bella Hadid has shared a throwback photograph showcasing her father, Mohamed Hadid’s impressive former life as an athlete.

Sharing a photo from the 1990s, the supermodel revealed her dad actually competed in the Winter Olympics of 1992 at the time when he was a refugee.

In the photo, the now 73-year-old Mohamed is seen in a very ’90s-esq multicoloured ski suit as he competed in speed skiing in Albertville, France.

Bella, 25, revealed her father, who was born in Nazareth, was the only Palestinan competing at the Winter Olympics three decades ago and he was competing for Jordan, one of the country’s he sought refuge in after fleeing his home country with his family as a young baby.

“My Baba in the 1992 Winter Olympics for SPEED SKIING! 30 years ago from today!” Bella said in her caption. “He was the only Palestinian, competing for Jordan trained by Franz Weber. Birthplace… NAZARETH!

“A refugee to the Olympics. I am so proud.”

Mohamed – who is father to Alana, Marielle, Gigi, Bella and Anwar – has previously been open about how he was forced to flee his home when he was just a baby.

Sharing a picture from his younger years back in 2020, Mohamed explained that he doesn’t have “a single picture of me [as] when I was a baby I was just about 9 days old when I and my family were refugees to the refugee camps in Syria from Palestine”.

Mohamed eventually relocated to Jordan, where he has citizenship, and then to the US where he has resided for a number of years.
