The annual Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic officially kicked off today with a whole host of pro golfers showcasing their skills at Emirates Golf Club.
But it’s this weekend that the popular event will be showing its support to a meaningful cause – raising awareness for breast cancer.
The Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic will be “painting the town pink” this Saturday in collaboration with the Al Jalila Foundation.
Making a statement, players and caddies will be donning pink apparel in support of the cause, and all spectators are encouraged to do the same.
“The Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic is extremely proud to raise awareness around the disease and we will continue to work closely with Al Jalila Foundation to help those in need,” Simon Corkill, Executive Tournament Director, said of the cause.
“This initiative is a long-standing tradition of the tournament and as the legacy of the event continues to grow, so will our efforts to raise awareness around the cause.”
Upping the stakes in the style department, the Tournament Town is hosting a series of ‘best dressed’ competitions with prizes worth Dhs2,000 will be up for grabs and a range of F&B offers will also be unveiled in support of the cause.
Also ensuring you can get the perfect Instagram snap to show off your pink ensemble, there will be a flower wall display where visitors are encouraged to take images of the backdrop and post across their social media channels, raising awareness online.
There will also be an opportunity for spectators to go the extra mile and donate via SMS at the tournament.
