One thing you quickly learn in Dubai is that you can’t step outside without a layer of SPF. Not only does it protect your skin from harmful UVB and UVA rays, but it keeps the skin looking fresher for longer. However, it’s not easy to find a formula that will work well with your foundation or concealer.

Certain formulas can feel sticky or greasy on the skin, making the foundation susceptible to slipping off half way through the day. The best solution for this is to get a two-in-one product aka a moisturiser supercharged with SPF protection that tackles premature ageing while diminishing existing wrinkles and pigmentation.

“Sunburn and health risks aside, overexposure to the sun is also a real villain in the fight to keep skin looking young,” Dubai’s go-to skincare and laser expert Rebecca Treston explains. “New research reported in the medical journal of Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology, suggests that UV rays are responsible for around 80 per cent of skin ageing: wrinkles, reduced skin elasticity, increased pigmentation and a degradation of skin texture can all be caused by overexposure to the sun.”

You shouldn’t aim for anything lower than SPF30 protection (ideally you should use SPF50) and if it’s part of the moisturiser, then you’re getting all of the hydrating benefits too. Apply daily and enjoy being out an about knowing that your makeup won’t budge and your skin will be safe from the heatwave.
