After a busy month of photoshoots, features and deadlines EW’s Fashion & Beauty Assistant Alexandra recoups with some couple’s R&R at the Talise Spa.

WHERE:

Talise Spa in Jumeirah Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi is an oasis of calm hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether you choose a full treatment or simply just a facial, we promise you’ll  leave with a spring in your step.

THE TREATMENT:

Dotted with flickering candles, cherry wood accents and filled with an aroma of essential oils, the spa is a little sanctuary away from the city noise.

Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and whisked into the waiting area where we were talked through our chosen treatment and treated to a glass of chilled amethyst infused water which was surprisingly delicious!

Next, we were introduced to our therapists and led to the ultra-luxurious couples room.

The private changing room has both his and hers bathrooms, where we changed into cosy dressing gowns.

The facials were specifically designed to suit our skin types and we were also given four options of essential oils to choose from for our Swedish massage – a nice personal touch.

First up was the flower bath enriched with rose petals and a mixture of fragrant oils. My guest and I were left for 15 minutes to lie back and breath in the relaxing scents of the bubbling Jacuzzi bath – bliss!

A gentle bell stirred us from a sleepy slumber as the Salurium was ready –a small room made of Himalayan salt bricks, with a soft amber glow and soothing tunes. After another luxurious 15 minutes it was time to move onto the Swedish massage. 

On our individual massage tables we were covered in warm fluffy towels to increase oxygen flow and remove toxins. Our skilled therapists ensured all knots and stresses were released with their expert kneading techniques.

Onto the facial, a fruity blend of herbal extracts were lathered on our complexions to purify and hydrate. After a round of warm facial compressions that softened and soothed, various indulgent creams were massaged on to our faces, each with a more delicious scent than the next.

Our treatment complete, we sipped on freshly brewed green tea before heading back out into the real world.
