Lacoste has been one of sports’ leading labels since 1933, when French tennis champion René Lacoste switched up traditional tennis gear by replacing a woven, long-sleeved shirt with a lighter and more comfortable short-sleeved style in airy piqué fabric – known today as the classic Lacoste polo shirt (Dhs450 at Lacoste in The Dubai Mall).
