It’s business as usual for Dubai, per directives from HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

It has been announced that from today, June 3, private sector businesses and all shopping malls in Dubai are now able to return to running at 100 per cent capacity. All government employees are set to return to offices on June 14, after 50 per cent of the workforce returned on Sunday, May 31.

While malls are now permitted to operate at full capacity it has not been made clear as to whether those over 60 or children under 12 will be allowed to enter, as they have previously been banned from entering shopping centres for health and safety reasons.

This latest phase in the reopening of the emirate comes after HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council unveiled the plans last week, which included curfew hours being changed from 8pm to 6am, to 11pm to 6am.

However, despite the eagerness for life to return to normal, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted precautionary measures in place must still be adhered to in order for a smooth transition back to everyday life.
