As a three-day meeting headed by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is currently underway in order to discuss procedures and preparations for life post-coronavirus, His Highness declared his commitment to ensuring the UAE has the fastest economic recovery in the world.
The ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE has been discussing future plans with more than 100 officials – including ministers and secretary-generals of executive councils — from both federal government and local authorities, as well as international experts.
In His Highness’ opening statement during Monday’s session, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his commitment to ensuring a speedy recovery for the UAE economy.
“Today our goal is not only to protect people’s health, rather, our goal is to protect the economy, protect the gains and protect a decent life,” he explained. “My confidence in you is great. The main task today is for us to advance the Emirates faster than any country in the world.”

He reiterated that the goal was to “draw up a plan for the UAE after the COVID-19 virus crisis… a plan that will ensure that we are the fastest country in recovery.”
The three-day meeting, which is set to finish up today, has been focussing on six key things: the economy, health, education, food security, the community and the government.
Sheikh Mohammed also took the meeting as an opportunity to praise the leadership HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has shown during the pandemic.
“This disaster showed us your reality, a true friend and a great leader,” the ruler of Dubai wrote on Twitter. Your support inspired all of us.”
