‘We will win’
As the world comes together with an equal aim to prevent further spread of coronavirus, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, shared an inspiring video depicting the importance of solidarity.
Taking to Twitter over the weekend, His Highness posted the video with the poignant caption, “We will win”. The message takes inspiration from a sporting tournament, with all of us playing on the same side. We are still cheering the team on the front lines — the essential workers like police, firefighters and medical staff — and we all want to beat coronavirus together.
“When in doubt, remember, the whole world is playing from one side,” the narrator of the video, radio presenter Kris Fade, says. “We are one team. This is our home ground, this is our World Cup and we will win.”
The video begins with a shot of Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City Stadium before a montage of key sporting events in the region, as well as the rest of the world.
This is followed by clips of families, resident cheering from their balconies, COVID-19 patients applauding from hospitals, as well as frames of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid along with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The last shot is of UAE Nation Brand, and the words “Impossible is possible”.
