All the sparkles
What do you wear when you are the Duchess of Cambridge, going on a date with Prince William? Sparkles of course!
Kate Middleton and Prince William enjoyed a rare date night in London on Tuesday, heading to the West End, to watch the performance of Dear Evan Hansen. The show was held at the Noël Coward Theatre, in aid of their Royal Foundation due to its focus on mental health.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge watched the award-winning musical, which explores the story of protagonist Evan who struggles with social anxiety disorder. Both Kate and William are advocates of mental health, and the mother-of-three has been the driving force behind the young royals’ campaign on the issue.
For this occasion, Kate added a little sparkle to her ensemble, wearing a navy-coloured, button-up dress by Eponine, which she paired with a sparkly silver clutch bag and matching stilettos, both by Jimmy Choo. A fan of rewearing pieces, the royal was seen wearing the same silver pumps at the BAFTA awards and the Addiction Awareness Week charity gala last year.

Kate added the finishing touches to her date look by adding some statement jewellery pieces. The Duchess wore a pair of diamond chandelier earrings, which she previously wore in 2017, on loan from the Queen. She walked alongside Prince William, who was seen putting a loving hand on the back of his wife, displaying a rare moment of PDA between the couple.

In the programme’s show notes, William wrote: ‘Catherine and I are delighted to join you this evening for a special charity performance of Dear Evan Hansen at the Noel Coward Theatre.”
“One of the issues that we care passionately about is mental health and we are pleased that Dear Evan Hansen is helping to start important conversations between parents and teenagers about this important subject. Through initiatives including Heads Together and Heads Up, the Royal Foundation is helping tackle the stigma and change the conversation around mental health.”
The Royal couple even got the chance to chat up play’s author, Steven Levenson, and composers Justin Paul and Benj Pasek. The Prince asked the trio: “Ten years ago, do you think this play would have been here?” to which they replied: “‘I don’t think it would have even existed.”
