Style and glamour.
Arab Fashion Council has welcomed over 70 designers from the Middle East, Europe and Asia to showcase their latest collections in City Walk, Dubai.
With the last set of shows taking place this evening, including Amato Couture and Rami Kadi, here are all the highlights from the runways so far.
Aiisha, UAE
Feminine silhouettes, bold colours and a play between sensuality and elegance were all present at Aiisha Ramadan’s show. The use of thrills and bows were a particular highlight.
Hiba Younis, Palestine
Hiba Younis’s SS19 collection pays tribute to Arabic language through her use of embroidered calligraphy on high-shine gowns.
Arshys, UAE.
Art meets fashion on the runway for Emirati fashion label Arshys. The designer added her own spin to Vincent Van Gogh inspired collection, giving it a streetwear feel.
Mikhail Chamoun, Lebanon
The designer wowed the front row with his rich and couture-level designs, celebrating the female form. The use of beading and transparency felt particularly refined.
Ezra Tuba, Turkey
Jewelled tones, embellishment and oriental themes took centre stage at Erzatuba newest collection.
BLSSD, UAE
Blssd is the only non-profit social enterprise fashion brand in the region dedicated to helping individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer. Packed with plenty of attitude, it’s all about comfort and style.
Sara Altwaim, Saudi Arabia
The Saudi designer is known for her bridal gowns and her use of dense beading and embroidery. For the most recent collection, entitled The Vision, she layered delicate fabric to add depth to her pieces.
Yara Bin Shakar, UAE
Emirati fashion designer Yara Bin Shakar enjoys working with colour and this time she focused on pinks, reds and blues that she elevated with shiny panels. What we liked is the fabric manipulation where she twisted and pulled the fabric around the body.
