Nicole Kidman proves her place in Hollywood royalty by sporting an array of head-turning hairdos on her touch down at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday.
The Stoker actress, famous for her trademark strawberry blonde locks, gives her contemporaries and rising starlets a lesson in how to be a style chameleon.
During the day Nicole went for a demure, loose side plait but by the evening the star had vamped up her look with a quiff style ponytail ready for the premiere of The Great Gatsby.
Super slick and straight for the evenings opening ceremony Vs side swept and soft during the daytime.
Which hairstyle do you prefer? EW are all for her futuristic ponytail with a structured quiff.
Apparently the rain couldn’t dampen her mood or her tresses as she was heard saying: “‘It’s only rain. It’s pouring out there but I love the rain. I love it!”

This creation wouldn’t look out of place on the runway. With our four steps, it’s simple to master:
Step 1:
Start by sectioning the hair into three parts, a top section (everything before the crown) and two sides.
Step 2:
Take the front section of hair, backcombing it right at the roots and spritzing with hairspray as you go. Next, pin it up on the top of your head in a topknot so you can get to work on the sides.
Step 3:
Slick each side section back using a fine tooth-comb and fasten into a tight ponytail in the centre of the head.
Step 4:
Take the front section and sweep it back so it covers the ponytail you’ve just created. Pull all the hair down to the nape of the neck and fasten with a clear hair elastic. Et Voila!
With stars like RiRi and model Alice Dellal shaving the sides of their head to get a high fashion look with a punk edge – you can mimic the same quiff style at home, minus the scary hair clippers!
